Kansas-bred vagabonds Vigil and Thieves have released their new song, “Happier,” to the public. Reminiscent of artists like Candy Hearts and Allison Weiss, the track features a strong female lead with punchy guitar riffs and attitudinal backing drums. The lyrics are cheeky and the band members deliver with sass.
Vigil and Thieves also surprises us with their mashup of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” and the Pokemon theme song, appropriately entitled, “Pokeball.” It’s a fun (and free) cover for fans of the 90’s classic and/or the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana.
